about

A quiet solstice song for short winter days.

lyrics

In a quiet winter garden
Where everything now sleeps
The autumn leaves have fallen
And the willow gently weeps
down in its own reflection

The hedgehog in a slumber
The squirrel in its nest
Only robin red, in wonder,
Still sings melodies of the best
into that far horizon

The trees still proudly hold
Their branches bare up high
A path running through the snow
Between their pillars wide
and onwards through the shadow

In the long, cold winter-nights
There is comfort to be found
As we move towards the light
New life stirs in the ground
in its eternal cycle
